Pretty straight forward...just trying to figure out what I am going to have to go through to procure a set of dies for this round. I have always been partial to Redding. What is involved in getting a manufacturer to make a set?

Did you have this made up, or did you buy it from somewhere? I only ask because you really need to be sure of the chamber. If you can fire-form 3 or so cases and send them to one of the die manufacturers, they can take measurements and sell you the dies you want. They may come off the shelf, but if not, they can take care of that too.

That could save you a lot of frustration.

Steven, I don't have it yet, I am about to have it built; I am just wanting to get my ducks in a row so I will have the dies for when the barreled action gets back.

Then you should be ok, so long as the smith uses a quality reamer.

If you like Redding, then just send them an email. Even if they don't list it, they probably still have it on special order. They can make a lot of dies not listed. I'm sort of a Redding fan as well.

I bought mine from Redding...3 die set.....special order from Russ Haydon Shooters Supply. The 3 die set is listed on Redding chart as a special order for the 6.5-05AI. They ran about 100.00 if I remember right.Good luck.

Get a Type S full length bushing die in .270 Win and use the appropriate bushing for the 6.5 neck.

You can't size an Ackley case in a die intended for the standard case.

Woops, Missed the AI part. In that case redding makes a bushing die for the 25-06AI. Just use the appropriate bushing for the 6.5
