I have a long action to build off of and would like to build a varmint and coyote rifle. What caliber would you build and what bullet for that caliber would you shoot?
22-6mm Rem (aka 22 TTH) w/ fast-twist barrel for 75 gr & heavier bullets to take deer & smaller animals WAY out there.

75s at about 3700 fps!

Trying to talk myself out of one right now...
6-06
6/06 is the way I went

Dober
+3 for a 6/06......just AI it. grin
6mm Crusader with 105gr A-max
25-06 and call it a day. 75 grain vmax for varmints.

yipper wink
A 6mm Rem will get you about 3400 FPS with a 75 grain Hornady HP. They are scary accurate. A 300 Weatherby will get about the same with a 165 grain bullet, but may be a bit more punishing.
Easy answer = 25-06

Better answer = 6AI throated for 105s
6-284 in an eight twist throated for the Berger 105 or 115 VLD's.
6-06AI.. am very partial to the 284 as a parent..
