What platform are we talking?

Were it me, I'd build a 7mm/08 Imp (also known as the .260 remington). But for your parameters, of the four choices, the 7mm/08. Good brass/ammo availability, short action compatible (with ease). Hard to go wrong.....

280 AI for a standard action rifle, and 7-08 for a short action rifle. JMHO
Posted By: Tom264 Re: Building a .284 - 10/23/11
Just build a fast twist .260 AI and be done with it..
Posted By: high_country_ Re: Building a .284 - 10/23/11
Or a quick twist 280ai and be a bit more done with it. No feed issues, cheap easy to find brass, proven performance. In sa I say 260 over 284.

7-08 for a short action. Standard 280 for a long action. GD

7-08 on a SA..280 AI on a LA

To make life simple one needs a 7WSM for the bigger game at further ranges and a 7-08 for everything else. 7-08 is the best of all-rounders.

From your list do the 7-08.

You got a bunch of 'em, but where's the 7mm Bellm?
Posted By: KDK Re: Building a .284 - 12/01/16
Slightly OT question: if you were building a .284 Win., what action would you use? M70?

Where did you come across 2011 posts?
Posted By: slm9s Re: Building a .284 - 12/01/16
I'm going to assume you're talking about a hunting rifle. My hunting rifles all seem to be be long actions for some reason or other, so I'll go 280 as I'm a big fan of it.

Just so you know simplyme passed away last year I believe. It is interesting to see his thread still going strong.

I'd do it on a Ruger M77 LA (or Tikka), because they are 30-06 length and not 375H&H length like the M70 and 700.

Thank you sir. Not even something I would have considered.
