My new SAC custom .308 - 24hourcampfire

Just got word today from Mark @ Short Action Customs that my .308 build is done & will be shipping home next week.

*SAC custom action (Defiance Deviant action made to Mark's specs)
*Bartlein stainless 5R barrel = Rem Varmint contour, 1-11 twist, 22" long, deep spiral fluting by Kampfeld
*McMillan A3 stock
*Surgeon DBM
*Jewell trigger
*Mil-spec olive drab cerakote with black accents
*Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 (yet to be mounted)
*Seekins rings

I really like that! Chunk, but not too chunky. Would even make a good hunting rifle around here.

Nice looking rifle - SAC builds some fine rigs, his attention to detail is about as good as it comes.

VERY NICE 308 above, one you should def enjoy and looks like a one holer!

Grasshopper - you keep building, and you keep getting CLOSER to the one you will keep. Try a 6.5 Creedmoore, 260, or 6.5x47 next time, in a lighter yet #4 or Light Palma, 22-22.5" - fluted if you want the cool factor. Lighter recoil will be enjoyed when you do. That said, I prolly ....NEED...a 308 like most folks should....that blueprint above is one I could be very pleased with as I assume it will bughole.

Not being familiar with SAC, do they ONLY do short action builds? Or could he do something similar in a magnum?

Yep. Other than my preference for straight flutes, I wouldn't mind having one just like it.

Finally got it on the range today to shoot a little bit. Due to rain only got to run 25 rounds through it @ 100 yds, but it looks like a keeper!!

I had some very tight 3 shot groups & then shot this final 5 shot group before the heavy rains hit - happy happy!!
