About 5 months ago I got a wild hair to build a showroom quality display for all my guns and knives - was getting tired of opening two safes and removing 13 guns to fondle or shoot the one I wanted. Kinda cool - I found a few I forgot I had when moving them into the display! Room for a little more than 100 long guns, lots of drawers and storage for all my ammo, etc. Turned out great - carpenter just needs to install a few more doors and add a little more lighting. Solid black walnut throughout with red billiard felt liners. Will post better quality pics once it is all finished - hard to tell from these, but it fills up two whole walls and the optics shelves wrap around onto a third wall. Pistols and all my custom knives look great in the drawers too which are lines with the red felt. Really happy with it - beefed up the security system on the house big time too - cameras that let me see the entire collection on my phone at any time, etc.

That is stunning. Congratulations.

I am jealous too, i wish we could own so many firearms with such freedom!

Cheers, Chris
Dang nice!

Wanna sell the 6x45 in the blue stock? <grin>

Looks like a Cabelas gun library. It is good to see you designed it with racks yet to be filled. It looks tacky with those empty.

And you can tell your wife I said so.
Lol. I was wondering how many of you would spot guns you've sold me. There are MANY in there.

I told my wife just the other night I need to go on a 24 long gun buying spree!
You are one sick puppy. And I think I love you!

Very awesome!
p.s.: You need some more rifles for those scopes! And I definitely love you!

Very nicely done.
Cowabunga Amigo!

That is a work of art and wouldn't look out of place in the show room of one of the fine English gunmakers in London. Clearly a lot of work has gone into the design.

One question if I may, what is the spacing between rifles in the vertical bolt action cabinets?

Thanks, Jason.

I spotted the NULA 257 Wby I sold you last year! grin

Your gun display turned out AWESOME!!! You have to be stoked. I'd have a hard time working, I'd be monitoring my collection from the iPhone 24/7. lol.

Eric
Superb collection. And mighty fine cabinetry! I think many of us will use your design.
Very nice display. Looks really nice.
Very nicely done.
VERY NICE! cool cool
DAMNNNNNNN!!!!!

You have a couple $$$ into that collection - very nice!!
Absolutely gorgeous. And I know the empty slots are killin' ya. grin

Really nice Joe, some pretty fancy stuff in there. Whoever did the wood work did a great job!
I vote yes.

Thanks for the compliment, Jason. That horizontal section is all adjustable - he drilled holes every inch or so and I have walnut pegs that I just insert where they work to space the guns out enough that they don't touch. Works great.

Don't you know it, brutha!

The price wasn't horrible (well, in my opinion it wasn't). It can be done for 25% less in Hickory or Cherry. I think I'm into it a total of $21,500. It was initially $20K and then I added that little return section with the tilted shelves for $1500. Everything has an identical keyed lock - not really for security, but just when kids come over, etc. Two rows of LED lighting in the tops of all the cabinets, top of the line adjustable hinges and slides. He used plexi glass as those doors are really big and he thought they would come apart if I used glass. It's crystal clear though - you'd never know. Need to use a special plastic cleaner on it. Should be completely finished in a few weeks and I'll get some better than iPhone pics. Appreciate all the compliments - hope some of you can use the design to do the same!

Thanks, Eric - I thought you'd see that in there. The kids have their X-box on the opposite wall in that room so the camera serves two purposes - can check in on the little buggers too!
Very nicely done!
Wow! Just wow. That is stunning!
Joe, that is simply fantastic. Beautiful and useful at the same time. Hope you have a small fridge built in so you never have to leave the room.

Great idea, and looks very nice

What the spacing on the upright cabinets, and the angle of the slots?
For me it is a bit odd to see so many synthetics in a fine walnut case (my Dad, age 84, was a die hard walnut cabinet builder). Well executed for sure.
For me it's a bit odd to display anything but the American flag.
I like that short one with the white stock, 16" barrel?

That's a Remington Model 7 xcr in .243 with a McMillan swirly in white, light tan and grey.

Jason - I'll get you the measurements - I have them somewhere. I also own a tape measure if I can't find them.
Joe,
I think that case needs the Big 5 set of M70's that duckster is selling in the classifieds. smile

Do it. Do it. Do it.

I'm tempted, Scott. Definite eye candy.
You have a problem. grin

Any favorites out of the bunch?

I often ask myself if I had to sell them all and only keep one rifle, one shotgun and one pistol what would I keep.

And then my head almost explodes and I go back to trying to fill up the 23 empty slots...

stunning!
beautiful setup and i would love it myself. but i gotta ask, is that in a fireproof room or something? i'd be as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs without some sort of fire protection for that many guns. someday i want to make a fireproof gun vault and set it up like that but someday will most likely never come.

Looks very nice Joe.

You have some real eye candy there.
Very nice, indeed.

I missed this in early August, but I'm glad that it came to around again.

Really top notch work, hell of a man cave, enjoy!
That is fantastic. Great job!
