Remington of Mini-16. At least the mini-16 has a pin holding it in. IMHO, the Sako is a liability on a Remmy. I've had great success with the mini-m16 extracting cases that a remmy doen't particularly like (such as a 6mmBR)

I agree with Darren.... Factory Remmy first then mini M16!

I have 2 1-piece PTG bolts, one in a Rem 700 and one in a Stiller Predator. They both have mini-16 extractors, and they have worked every time so far. I also like the Rem extractor for the added safety feature.
A key difference between the two is the Remington extractor / ejector setup flings brass further. The mini-16 extractor with the PTG ejector probably flings brass about half as far. Could be a weaker ejector spring in the PTG ejector also, I don't know.

Sell that rifle and buy a design that does not require a bolt upgrade.
Such designs are the Ruger 77, M70, Kimber, Mauser, FN etc.

I'm sure the reason butch had a broken extractor has to do with round count, so that isn't any concern for you.

My only problem with m16 type is the ejection angle. It can be a problem with a low mounted scope with a windage turret. I much prefer the angle of a factory rem setup in such situations.

Butch, are there different size M-16 extractors for different case head sizes...ie ones for 473, 532 rebated WSM's etc ?
