David,

While not necessarily lightweight, I am happy with the balance, feel and weight of the Hogue I put on my 10/22. It's matched with a .920 Green Mountain barrel.

Didn't Hogue make one that was some sort of rigid plastic at one time instead of the candy coated rubber ones that are so common now?

David- mine wears a Midway Core Lite. I like it very much! With a Whistle Pig aluminum steel sleeved barrel it's like 5lbs without scope. SWEET

My lightweight hunter 10/22 wears a Hogue and a Kidd ultra lw. With Talleys and Leupold compact, it's a hair over 5lbs.
