I will have a new rifle for me soon and I want to get it painted and a new pad installed. Can anybody recommend anybody to do this. I beleive the stock is a MPI synthetic. Thanks
Roger,
This is a job you can do.
Krylon Fusion for plastic.
Stone paint, both available from Wally World.
Spider web paint from Mister Art, or Blick art.
Experiment on an old 2x4.
I can send you pictures of stocks that I've done.
Fitting a pad. If you've got a belt sander, then go to Midway and buy the jig for it. Again it's easy.
John
I've had Charley Santoni go over several of my rifles, of which the cheapest was around $4000. His work is excellent and timely.

I also like the stone paint and am impressed with how durable it is, especially if you go over it with a couple coats of matte clear. I hunted my 30-06 this year and pushed through a bunch of brush with it and it didn't even suffer a scratch...

Doesn't Rick Bin do stock painting any more?

That 1st pic has some crud on the buttpad, just dirt. I'm pretty happy with the results, and it can only get better.
Nice job. I haven't tried any camo patterns yet.
Here's my little Swede...Hunter Green, fade to black...

Eddie did an Edge for me a few months back and it turned out very well.

Karnis did a couple of mine as well and they are really nice as well. Not sure if he's still doing them, but I'd shoot him a PM and see.
Another vote for Branden at Custom Gun Coatings. Great guy, super service ans you'll be thrilled with the results.
