I've got Micky on order for my 7STW that will be painted in their dark earth with black and tan speckles. The stock won't be here until May so I'd like to get the barrelled action out for coating in the interim.

Knowing there are many shades of FDE and that Mcmillan's interpretation of the color is a bit "unique", I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction on which cerakote color (or custom mix) will provide the closest match.

If anyone has this color combo or McMillan dark earth with other metal colors I would love to see pics.

Thanks in advance,

Mike
They make a cerakote color with the same name. I'd start there.
Tell the metal coating guy that you want it to look like calf scour diarrhea. He'll get it close.
Its ugly as sin it should be called baby crap

I guess after enough builds I'm looking for something different.... So which cerakote matches baby diarrhea/cow pattie?

DVD......all kidding aside, what's the metal color in the pic?
a mix of Federal Brown,Coyote Tan and OD

Thank you sir
If you're having the black/tan speckles on the stock, I'd recommend graphite black on the barreled action. I'm with Dan on the color...I had one done in it and it's ugly as a mud stick fence.

I ordered it thinking Dark Earth would be a dark brown color
not exorcist puke green
Ironically I've referred to the Mcmillan Express with brown paint on my 375 as my poop brown stock. That rifle has graphite black cerakote on it. Looks like dark earth takes that concept to the next level.

I'd still like to find someone to match the cerakote to the stock to create one god awful ugly killing machine but I think that black metal will probably work best for keeping me from wanting to poke my eyes out with a pencil when I see the end result.
There's nothing dark, brown, or earth colored about that baby chit yellow mistake. powdr
I gotta admit that up against the black metal, it's kind of growing on me.
