guys I just wanted to post a few pics of my new custom built by Dan glover of dans custom guns. First off dan is a great guy and builds great rifles. The rifle was going to be a 7mag( sorry tanner) but just before I chambering I changed my mind. I'm real happy how she turned out and hopefully I can hone my skills some to live up to the potential of this rifle. Here's a few pics of gun and targets:

Nice, that'll do just fine.
That's gonna work out mighty good for ya.
Very nice!!
I'm really liking mine although I am not to the accuracy level you are yet.

Looks like you are running H1000 and 180 Bergers, which ones? Have you tried Retumbo or US 869 yet?
That will do it all.........sweet rifle!
Thanks guys I'm really excited about this build. First I'm using the 180 hybrid with 72grs. I have not had a chance to try any other powder but plan on trying reloader 26 & retumbo Which I have on hand. I'll post results but it might be awhile.

Nice, man, I like everything about it. (Well, except the brake, but that's a personal hangup)
70 or 71 (can't remember which) of Retumbo gets me 3060 with the 180 hybrid.
First how's accuracy And es's? How long is your barrel? What altitude do you shoot at? Thanks
I haven't reached phenomenal accuracy, but it maintains SUB MOA out to 600. The potential really is there, I just haven't find the exact sweet spot yet.

I only recently purchased a chronograph and have only measured a hand full of rounds (6 I think). In those rounds, the ES was 54 (high of 3092, low of 3038).

Elevation is approximately 1500.
First what was the temps you shot in and how long is your barrel? My gun with 24" barrel at 220 above sea level and temps between 35 and 45 degrees its averageing right around 2975 fps With es's of 15 which I'm happy with. When I decided on this project my goal was 3000 fps with that short tube. Right out of the gate I'm close enough. Reloader 26 with probably put me over no problem but if the stability and accuracy stays with h1000 I'm good where I'm at especially because I'm running at least a grain grain and a half under max right now and want to save brass and barrel life. Thanks for all the replys
Sorry about that, my barrel is a 26" #4 fluted Brux 1:9.

Temperature was approximately 60°.

The top velocity of 3092 was the last shot, do the barrel was plenty warm.

Besides that shot, the ES would be 33.
Np thanks for the info. Have fun shooting your lrm and if you come up with a super combo let me know and I'll do the same. Take care

Casey

That es is pretty high. I know your using h1000 with what primer?
I'm using Retumbo, and federal gmm215.

I haven't made a big deal over the es yet because my load is not finalized.

Gotcha. Still playing with seating depth? Have you shot a ladder or ocw test with it? The fed215m is what I usually use.
I've shot a ladder playing with Coal, but only at 100. I've basically got the powder charge set, just playing trying to find the sweet spot. I'm actually headed to the range today to shoot about 10 different loads ask with varying COAL'S. Also testing the scenars.
Nice shooting!
Thanks.
Hey...I thought the rifling was supposed to be on the inside of the barrel. grin
Lol.
100 rds thru her I cleaned her good and went to range today. It was 54 degrees and 20mph winds not great conditions but manage a decent 5 shot group at 200 off bipod with magneto speed attached.she sped up quite a bit the 24" tube is sending those 180 at 3025 fps now. Easy 30 fps faster. I might back off 1/2" gr to get her closer to 3000.
