I'm thinking of putting together a 308 Winchester. Lots of them seem to be built on 11" twist. Any good reason why they aren't using the 10" twist?

Shoot incredible
S34, Sendero is right, I have 4 rifles chambered in 308 win. and all of them are a 1-10 twist.
Are you sure most of the rifles you checked are '11 twist?
10-11 won't matter either way. If you are wanting to run the heavier bullets 200gr + go 8. I have them in 8, 10, and 11. The 8 will run 155s just as good as the 11.
Why do you prefer it over the 10"?
If you are going to shoot copper bullets (i.e. Barnes TTSX, TSX, etc.), plan on the 1:10" twist. If a twist is too slow for a given bullet there is nothing that will correct the situation.
