Does anyone make a model 70 action clone other than Montana Rifle Co?

I've bought a stock inletted for a model 70 and need to find an action for it, possibly something other than a model 70 because a LH model 70 is hard to find.

Any ideas?

How's the Montana 1999 action?

I handled the rifles at that nra deal in Nashville a few months ago. Friend and I agreed they seemed very nice and like a bunch of rifle for the money. If a kimber or nula weight is what a fella is after maybe the Montana action isnt the way to go. For a nice standard wright sporter I liked them.

That's my opinion and you still don't know anymore than you did...haha

Kaleb are you talking about Kimber Montanas or Montana Rifle Co stuff you handled?

Oops that should have read the montana action isn't the way to go. Sorry I see how that is confusing.

Yes I was talking about the Montana rifle company action being very nice and all but it kimber Montana weight is desired it might not be the way to go.

Smiths like them too because you don't have to cut out for the extractor. It has a extractor on the bolt like some 70's but stops before it reaches the barrel....or so I was told.

They feel fine have a nice side bolt release( it could be a little more low profile but it's ok) good trigger and what appears to be high quality bottom metal. Hope this helps some.....sorry doing this on my phone and not saying everything just right.

The MRC 99 action has slightly different inlet than the Model 70, recoil lug is different, bolt stop requires relief, and bolt handle comes back farther than the Model 70. Can be done but it will not look perfect.

Mcmillion would not reinlet the Edge LH SA Win 70 stock for the MRC for me had to do it myself.

The Tang was different also, shorter had to build up material on Edge stock. Glass stock easier to hide changes.

Bumping this back up - was there not a company called Richards and Roberts or something like that - R&R that made high end model 70 clones?

What are you trying to build? I have a couple LH m70 actions that I can part with.

https://www.mnrcustom.com/the-hatari Matt does nice work on m70s and clones. He has done a couple rebarrels for me that shoot great. Only a couple miles down the road from me.
