I know a lot of guys on here have had great luck with Lee (Redneck) on here. Does he have a website? Thanks
Posted By: deerhunter5555 Re: Redneck - 01/18/16
I don't believe Lee does. But he does an outstanding job at a fair price.
Posted By: mmgravy Re: Redneck - 01/18/16
All you have to do is drop him a PM and he will get back to you as soon as he can. He does outstanding work at a very fair price.
Posted By: handwerk Re: Redneck - 01/18/16
Yep, great guy to deal with, he just finished up another build (#5) for me, just PM him and he'll take care of you.

I'm just in the gathering parts here and there stage didn't want to bug him yet
Posted By: HUNTER1309 Re: Redneck - 01/18/16
Jerrad

I was at that stage a few months back and sent Lee a PM. He is was very helpful and friendly.

He now has all my parts and is building a 7/08 AI for me.

Shoot him a PM and he will treat you right.

I would use him but he won't work with Sako actions.

At one time he told me only winchester 70's and Remington 700's buts that some time ago.

I don't wanna get THAT busy. At my age I just want to work with a pace and amount that I can finish within the owners' requirements.

Stupid question time - does that include Tikkas on the "no fly" list?

Yeah, go ahead and bug the PISS outta Redneck (Lee)!! LOL. Lee's a great guy, and a great gunsmith.

I started a project several years ago, a 264 WM based on a push feed M70. Times were tough and money was tight to say the least. I bugged Lee off and on over the course of about 3 years, I think, until we finally got it under way. I bought Williams bottom metal and had it drop-shipped to Lee. I think he had it on his shelf for maybe a couple of years. The action I think he had for a couple years total, as I was scraping money up where I could to piece this thing together. In the end, it turned out above expectations. I've had it in hand for going on 2 years now. Money being what it is and other priorities in the way, it's going to finally be scoped this week. Reloading and testing to follow soon.

All that is to say, I think highly of Lee and would recommend him to my best and closest friends. He's a man of character and produces quality work.

Pics taken the day I unboxed her. Not best quality. She's due a photo session after she's scoped later this week.

Mr. Redneck has went out of his way to be helpful to me in answering all of my questions. I am a M70 man completely and have asked him several detailed questions that you seldom see on the web re: M70 function and design. He has been quick to help, extremely thorough, very courteous, and the man really, really knows what he's talking about when it comes to M70s. He's never done any work for me, but I'd not hesitate one moment to have him work on any of my old M70s.
Posted By: jowens Re: Redneck - 01/19/16
He will be building me something as soon as I make up my mind. He's been great to communicate with so far.
Posted By: Dude270 Re: Redneck - 01/19/16
I sent Lee a rem 700 in 223 to be set back and rechambered to 223 Ackley and also cut the barrel from 24 to 20" and recrown.
USPS delivered the barreled action to him last Wednesday and he called me today with a question about throating, saying he would have it finished up after lunch. I just got a Pm saying he would ship it back tomorrow morning.

That turnaround is unbelievable, the price was more than reasonable and Lee has been great to deal with throughout.

I can't wait to get it back and get it shooting
Posted By: RDFinn Re: Redneck - 01/19/16
Be careful with Lee, he's a 700 hater........ grin He might try to sabotage your bolt handle.
Posted By: STS45 Re: Redneck - 01/19/16
He has bed some rifles for me and does amazing work.

Won't work with a finely crafted Sako action but will work on that thing that says Ruger on the side.

That just hurts....lol

I had to do a quick count and came up with six he has done for me. From a 223 AI to a 338 WM. All are very well done and shoot great. As has been said already he communicates very well and is very helpful when you have questions. Not a fan of Douglas barrels if I remember right !!!

Well, Lee, where do stand on commercial Mausers?

Pass...

I gave up on all Mausers years ago..

Lee does not like Wyatt magazines either.

Great guy to work with!

Lee, Can you usually get a full custom, using a pre 64 m70 action, to shoot as well as one done with a good push feed custom action?

Are all the Wyatt's a pain, or just certain ones?

Lee, do you think you can you can mount bipod on it and maybe use some epoxy and cloth to build up the stock so I can get a good cheek weld with the 50mm objective and see thrus?

I'm gonna put an illuminated, 8-32 Barska on it with a 4 inch sunshade

Lee, as you know, I used Mickey as my smith for many years. He spoke highly of you, and his endorsement is gold in my book. I'll be sending you a pm when I get ready for my next project.

One of the best deer hunters that I know shoots an old Marlin 336T with see thru mounts that you can't even see through because of the honkin' 3-9X50mm Tru-Glow scope with illuminated crosshairs. He gives not one [bleep] what it looks like, and neither do the bucks. But it sure is a crazy lookin' rig.
