I have tikka in 223 and its a tack driver. I have a bunch or 5.56 ammo laying around and as much as I love to shoot the AR. It is a lot cheaper to shoot the bolt action.
Anyone turn their 223 Rem. into Wylde?
Will I compromise the accuracy of what I have?
The Wylde is a compromise chamber for semi-autos. Check your throating and just have your 223 chamber throated deeper if necessary. The 5.56 NATO and Wylde chambers are sloppy. For whatever reason the Wylde is accurate though!
Have you tried the 5.56 ammo? I have read the stories (cautions) of it in 223 chambers but have yet to see an issue using it. I suppose that there may have been instances where it may have been an issue but I am skeptical of anecdotal information.
Bottom line - if you have a tack driver why would you take a chance on the loss of accuracy a re-chamber may incur just to save a few dollars? Chances are the re-chamber may cost more than the actual savings in ammo.

I'd leave your .223 barrel alone and swap/replace your 5.56 for .223 ammo.
The last two posts are pretty good advice.

Ruger chambers a 5.56 in the American line. I'd leave a good shooter alone.
I wouldn't touch a Tikka chamber.
I'd also feed it match ammo and not burn up the barrel with crap ammo, especially if it's one with 1/8 twist. I'd leave the surplus for the blasters, but I don't waste my time shooting surplus ammo.
Actually though, since I reload so I don't shoot any factory ammo, but I do get a lot of free brass from the range blasters.
Thanks everyone.
I didn't want to touch, sometimes you just need to hear it and it's nice to get conformation.
She has 1-10 twist.
Thanks again.
I'd keep shooting it until the throat erodes to the point you can call it a Wylde chamber.
I've shot a bunch in my bolt rifle. It ain't an issue. Why is it considered crap ammo?
I haven't shot that much ball ammo in my 223, but that which I have produced groups two or three times the size of what my handloads will do.
If you worry check with Tikka.
CZ 527 is good for both. So sayeth CZ.....
