Where would I go to find a stainless fluted custom barrel, to match the factory m700 CDL stainless fluted. Within reason anyway. I realize direct copies don't exist. Thanks!
I would guess most barrel makers can do that.. I'm quite sure Lilja can.. But you're looking about about $450-475 ea..
I believe Hart will copy most contours with their CNC machinery.
PacNor will do what you want
Its not an exact dup of the factory barrel but a fluted Brux #3 contour is pretty darn close to that. I rebuilt a LVSF 7MM-08 which I believe has the same barrel as the fluted CDL and the Brux was a good match.
Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. Some good leads there.
3rd for Pac-nor. They will do any contour including dupes.
Pretty much everyone will do it. Bartlein if you're not in a hurry.
Gotta say,I didn't expect all the Pac-nor recommendations. I need to give them a holler and check it out.
Krieger offers a Remington varmint contour and the choice of either a Krieger or Remington flute.
Hart & Pac-nor both duplicate factory contours. I have both. Pick your poison. They do well for me.
I called Pac-Nor this evening. Bout closing time out there in fact. Even so,they were very pleasant and helpful. I figure Ill give Hart a jingle as well.
call Pac-Nor.....they build good barrels.......
they will even set it up on your action......plus $125 I beleive
along with trueing the action......good guys.....

More like $300 to chamber and install a barrel. Plus the cost of the barrel.
E. R. Shaw. Will do a Remington contour stainless barrel, chambered, fitted, action tried, and test fired for around $400. I have three Shaw barrels, and my brother had them do a M70 for him. All rifles are sub-moa shooters, and we just screwed a Shaw on a Savage 111 that's shooting under an inch during break in. Good people to deal with.

My smith always tells me Pac-nor as well. They have treated him very well.
Pac-Nor will install their best grade stainless, fluted, for just under $800 with shipping. Not too shabby considering what my last build cost. $400 for the barrel. $600 for the labor. No flutes. Ended up being a very fussy rifle that struggles to stay under an inch. Thinking about sending it to one of these other folks for a re-do.
Pac-Nor was very helpful and friendly. I need to call Hart and bounce it off of them as well.

barrels...ready to screw on...for $465 ish shipped...figures may have
changed....run the numbers....never had a bad Pac Nor barrel

I don't have to run the numbers, I'm on about my 8th rebarrel by PacNor and I'm looking at an invoice for one that was shipped to me yesterday.
+5 or 6 for Pac-nor. For about $700, they will chamber/ream a CM barrel, square the lugs etc and screw on your barrel and ship it all back to you. As tikkanut said, I've never had a bad one.
