One that you own or have owned...McSwirrly, McWoody, McFlame, McFlag doesn't matter. Have to pick only one...go!
Nice Tom! Rhino camo?
I like your McFlame better Ingwe
Current favorite is this one, a Classic Edge painted in 3 color GAP Flectarn. Our own campfire member darrenk did the paint work on this one - thanks Darren!!
VZ-24 in a Coyote bomber with a new Yugo barrel.
That's a good one, Nut. Hard to beat Red/Black or Orange/Black Combo.
I do like the black/red combo. I'll take a pic of my son's black/red compact tonight. Also had a purple/orange that was a cool combo.
But it seems the uglier I try to make them, the more I like them. Here's a purple bastid:
And a orange/blue bastid:
Man 257, I love the look of that orange and blue with the od green on the metal. Never would've thought that would look good but it does.
Russell
Thank you. That's actually Coyote Brown metal. Here's a closer pic:
And the son's black/red. I think it's 60/40.
The top one, it's the Mountaineer (black with grey and dark earth specs). Really like the trim and slim design - it's definitely going to be seeing lots of time in the field.
I found a stock on the McMillan 'Specials' page that I could use. I called to inquire about it. Heather answered the phone and went to see if it was still in stock. when she got back to the phone, she called it 'hideous' and offered to paint it for free. I laughed and declined.
it is the bottom stock in these pics.
This stock was painted by Brandon at Custom Gun Coatings....went with the red Decelerator pad.
Black and Orange 50/50
I'm gonna have to break open the wallet one of these days and order a McMillan.
Damn these are all very easy on the eyes. Awesome, looking rifles and stocks......

Will you have room in the barn with the other thousand or so you've got already, Scott?
In terms of favorite, my mind changes like the wind and am generally in favor of a pop of color.
For the last few of months, I've been partial to the subdued.

Black and Orange 50/50
That's on my bucket list...
For now, it's my coyote bomber 375 H&H...

Sevens, is that mountaineer a long action and what is barrel length?
I've got a mountaineer ordered for a short action and #3 barrel. Hope it looks ok. Finishing at 22"

Love it! What is that build?
Carolyn has an M1A stock in the safe somewhere that looks really similar. I haven't seen it in years. Must be in the back. But the stock and gun are from the late 80s anyway...
Inspired by the Coyote Bomber.
My only McM, so I guess it's also my coolest........

Yes, long action with a 24inch barrel.
My M1A carries my favorite McMillan.

Hey, thanks.
Plain Jane .243 w/ SS Mullerworks 22" sporter tube (1:8) in an Edge Classic.
Skane, What's the weight on that rig minus the scope, any idea? Also, 1" pad or 1/2" pad? Looks like bdl bottom metal right? Sorry, thinking about a short action stock order and that is close to what I want.
One that you own or have owned...McSwirrly, McWoody, McFlame, McFlag doesn't matter. Have to pick only one...go!
I guess this was probably the best looking one:
And then maybe this one:
John
I have several McWoody's, but this one is the prettiest.
Blessings,
Steve
I just ordered a Rem Hunter McSwirly last week. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
50% Orange
35% Black
15% White
Probably like this, though in place of white this one is grey.
300 mag.

Looks good. How do you like that Mullerworks tube? I've got a 6.5 1:8.....I'm just waiting on my stock to show up. I'll then have rifle built. I'm building a bit of concern for my chose in stock. I went with an edge Mountaineer. Do you think this will be ok with such a short forend? I'm building on a stiller 30 and want to finish tube at 22". 6.5 CM....any thoughts?
Nick,
I haven't spent a bunch of time with it yet but getting it on paper and a subsequent group with what was left of reloads from my last 243 has me a bit giddy.
Sounds like you've got a quite a nice rifle in the works! I guess only you can decide if the Mountaineer is for you. I'm a little long in the arm department so I know it's not for me. It could very well be perfection for you though.
IIRC, the Mountaineer is something like 7 or 8" of forearm - depending on inlet. (don't hold me to that)
You might want to take one of your existing stocks and put a piece of tape where the Mountaineer forearm would end and then decide.

Yeah, I'm short in the arms. I'm only 5'5" (no I'm not part of the lolly-pop gang ha) so it will likely fit great. I know on a long action, it has a 7" forearm. So I figure close to 9" +/-. It is a good 2-3 inches shorter than most other mcbros stocks that range from 30-31". I just don't want it to look funny regarding aesthetics. Should be fine.
Yes I'm real excited to get it underway. The stock is taking a good bit longer than I thought. Oh well, custom inlet for my barrel. It's all good!
.243win Built by English rifles
I really like that. Your builds are always fun to look at.
The "Tiger Striped" stocks are nice!!

Nice Rifle RD SHOOTER. How do you like the game scout stock. The game scout is on my next build list.
300 mag.
What pattern is this stock? Mountain Rifle by chance?
Probably one of the three middleish ones... McFlame, the FUBAR'd McFlame that turned out a McSwirly, or the purple McSwirley.
Nice lookin line up there KDK^^^
I'm calling this one "corn silk worm".
here's my favorite...but I'm a conservative old fart
It's really a brown/black mix. Not flashy.
Probably one of the three middleish ones... McFlame, the FUBAR'd McFlame that turned out a McSwirly, or the purple McSwirley.
I kinda like that Fubared McFlame!

Of my McMillan's, this is definitely my "coolest"
I don't own these anymore, but I still like 'em!
I call this Jimi Hendrix...."Purple Haze"
Rick, I love that purple stock, I remember seeing it around here somewhere. Do you remember the recipe?
Okierifleman's looks like a throw back to an Eddie VanHalen guitar....its def one of a kind
Do you remember what the recipe was for the purple one?
Rick, I love that purple stock, I remember seeing it around here somewhere. Do you remember the recipe?
40% purple, 40% light gray and 20% turquoise
It was awesome. Amazingly, it was dark enough that it blended in the bush, it didn't clash!
I really dig it. I am thinking about splitting up the gray and turquoise up 30-30
That is exactly what it is, Eddie Van Halen's 5150 guitar
"bobcat flame"
Great pattern on the bobcat flame.
Thanks, it came out well.
J, that's has always been one of my favorites as well!
These are my Rem600 sisters. Top is a 338Fed in a McSwirly and the bottom is a 7mm-08 in an EDGE. Both are the Mountain Rifle pattern.

How bout some green ones?? Anybody had any really cool green ones?
