I have a Custom Ruger 22 that continues to jam the shell into the chamber. Works great for 5 or 6 shots and then jams one in the chamber and the only way to get it out of the chamber is to pry it out with a knife or a cleaning rod down the barrel? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ammo? I shoot federals?

Barrel chamber ?

Bought it of a friend that never had any problems with it. He said he shot it about 2,000 times

Gunsmith was LPR?

It has an MOA action. Shilen bull barrel and Kidd two stage trigger and extremely accurate when it does shoot

Have you thoroughly cleaned it? Tighter tolerances, gunk and bulk ammo could be a bad formula.

That Kidd 2 stage is awesome isn't it?

What is a "bull barrel"? Clean it and check the extractor.

Thanks It sound like a good cleaning will do the job.

If your not in a hurry you could always send it to gradous............

If you have to pry the ammo out, its either the size of the ammo or the size of the chamber. I'd brush the chamber, try good standard velocity ammo and try again.
