Anyone know if this combination will work - as in feed and function properly.

Better solutions?
A gunsmith friend of mine who builds LOTS of rifles on Stillers tells me that the HS DBM has the most consistent feeding of all the detachable mags on a TAC338 action.

Added bonus is that you can run the 3rd or 5rd magazines depending on what you are doing with the rifle.

WOW. Just got off the phone w/HS Precision and was told that their LA DBM would not work with the Stiller TAC-338.
Interesting.....I don't have one to verify, just going by what I was told.

He did specify the "lapua" bottom metal so I am not sure if it is any different than the standard LA DBM.

I will have to reach out and see what he says.
I did get a follow-up email to my telephone call, which does add some clarification.

"Our DM assembly will work for any Remington 700 or 700 cloned action. We do offer a 3 and 7 round 338 lapua magazine box. However, the internal length of the magazine box is 3.70". If you are shooting 250 grain factory ammo they will fit just fine. If you are handloading or shooting heavier bullets you will want to double check to OAL first to ensure they will fit in the magazine box."

So I guess the answer is "It will, but it won't."
That's the exact response I got back from my smith.....said they feed the most consistently but you are limited on COAL.
