Could/would this be a practicle build? On a .223 action I wouldn't think it would take a lot to put one together?
It would be for my 6 year old daughter to hunt white tails and bleak bears over bait. I thought it would be low recoil and fairly inexpensive to shoot and load for.

it would work. Especially if you already had the rifle laying around.
