Youth season is this Saturday with spring gobbler coming in on Monday.

I had a bad stress fracture in my foot while in the military and over the past few weeks while running it started swelling and getting sore. I stopped running for a few days, but the pain and swelling continued.

Went to the doc yesterday and x-rays confirmed what I thought was wrong. The bone is now actually broke where I fractured it years ago. Headed to the orthopedic specialist Friday to be placed in a cast or walking boot for the next 4-6 weeks. Mo$*erfu#@er!

You know where a clover or chufa field might be located? If so you could throw a blind up and put out some decoys. It's not ideal but it's turkey hunting.

There's still hope man. I bow hunted on crutches one year. Didn't kill anything but I hunted.

Sorry for the bad run of luck. I had ankle surgery before turkey season one year and hunted on crutches. It was unhandy but better than not hunting. I hope you get some hunting in.

You are good to go then! I got around fine in a walking boot after I had my achellies surgery heck I even played volleyball with the boot.

In my younger days I deer hunted in a full leg cast one season. Pulled 2 contractors bags over it and sealed with electrical tape. My buddy would drop me off as close as he could to the stand & I'd drag myself the rest of the way. Where there's a will there's a way!

Hope you can get into a good spot and call them to you - bring along a kid or a buddy to retrieve your bird!
