Sitting here thinking, had surgery on my right hand Friday, no work for the next 7 days, Hand is good enough to call and shoot,

Wisconsin don't open for a few weeks, Southern Illinois has a hunt this week?

Missouri seems to be a few weeks out,

Anyone know an outfitter, or property to hunt this week?

Obviously tags need to be over the counter, is there such a thing? Landowner tags?

Be a great way to kill(pun) some time.
I might be dreaming, Iowa and Tennessee require a drawn tag.

Ohio is out, Are all states requiring the tag application process? Looks like it.

TN is open, should be an over the counter nonresident license.
I think the Deep South is open, and I would bet Texas. Kansas Okla.? I was really impressed with both places when we visited this spring.

Serious question, you know of any reputable Turkey outfitters in Tennessee?

I wish I could help but I do not know any outfitters.
Any chance you own a couple hundred acres? laugh

I have a 660 acre lease that has no turkey on it right now. I do live next to 125,000 acres of public land hunting. The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.

I'll make phone calls in the morning, but if you don't mind my ignorance at this point,

Do you have any idea if Nonresident tags would actually be available for this week?

I think nonresident is over the counter.

I'd look up some of the middle TN counties as they have a ton more birds than east TN, here is our state harvest report. Season started 4-2-16:

South Carolina and Georgia are open. You are just and out of state hunting license away
Some Texas counties opened April 2nd, I got a Jake that afternoon!
MS is open
Texas is open. There are several spots listed on Craigslist in Austin.
Wisconsin to central TN seems about the max travel distance for me, time is pretty limited for driving to TX or Miss ,

appreciate the suggestions though.

Now you're just rubbing it in, lol...

Congrats on the first two.
Good times man,

went down to TN, had a great time, lots of birds and some great people, Catfish and sweet tea (you can keep the white beans though),

nailed a nice bird the 3rd afternoon, came back home and our season is now going, My son nails a really nice bird about 9 yesterday morning and I almost took the second tom but missed the running shot at 50 yards,

then about 5pm I dropped mine, Son sitting right next to me.

3 birds for us and two more tags left.

Thank you Lord for these memories.
