Movie made in 1937, but while watching it that barrel on it is too long for a 99T. I think it's a prewar 99R in 300.

I agree with Rory, If you copy and past the picture to your desk top and and then enlarge it you can see a slight vertical line at the end of the forearm of a prewar 99R

I thought the barrel looked a bit long for a T but, thought it may look long because of the angle. I'll agree it's probably an early R.

In the picture you posted, it does look like a 99T. I went to youtube and skimmed through the episode, and when he holds it sideways it's obvious the barrel is too long.

Yeah, I like how hollywood safaris got woodies out into the "jungle." That promo pic looks like it was taken in the driveway of the film's producer. With that forearm, my guess also would be an R and most likely a 300 too.
