1926'ish 99F V1, $900 and in 303 Savage. Not bad shape from the pics.

The $3500 1899H in 22HP will probably be there a long, long, long time.. no matter how nice it is.
As always I defer to the sound judgment of learned elders🦊
(though Balistol wipes were administered to remove my drooling)

Unless of course someone just had to replicate the Rev Caldwell's exploits to take his hand hunting dangerous game with a 99 in 22 high power (except for rogue tigers - all are protected) so even at that price safe to remain …

I have that rifle's slightly younger sibling in pretty much the same condition. Mine was made in 1929and I suspect that one was made sometime in the early to mid 20s. Its a nice little package. After seeing it in the shop did you become an owner?
S99VG,

It seemed like a nice package, bright bore, un-messed with and was tempted - but sadly no 🦊

Since acquiring more than enough ammunition in select calibers that I can ever shoot, and parting with reloading equipment, as I shoot what I collect, I am not apt to start reloading for a new / old caliber -

Among the curiosities on display is a full set of elephant armor with shooting perch for the Raj’s tiger hunts 🦊
