I have a Savage 1899F SRC ( 1911, serial # 116,xxx) that I need to replace both front and rear sights to the original style. Can anyone show or tell me what to look for and where to look for them? Much thanks in advance.
The early SRC's had a 2 1/2" space to the dovetail and used the Savage micrometer sight.
The later, and I suspect yours had a 3" space to dovetail and used the Savage marked 1911 buckhorn sight.

Front sight could be a number of different sights. Kinda your choice.

Btw, welcome to the Savage collector forum.

eBay is a good place to look. Scrounge here. Google, parts houses, etc.

Great. Those photos certainly help. Thanks so much.

SWI Savage ,
On the top rifle the front sight is not quite the same as mine.
Mine has a Sheard little longer blade than yours with the micrometer rear sight but I need to measure the dovetail distance for 2 1/2 or 3. Thanx for the info.

My 1912 has the Micrometer rear sight. I'd check some catalogues. Sheard sights were offered as an option over the years. So, it may not be the right sight, but it may not be the wrong sight either. I got a Marbles Improved Sight for the front on my 1902 engraved rifle. Somewhere I read that the Marbles Improved was offered for a couple years in the early 1900's.
