I have no idea on the 22 but that is about the right price on the 99F in 243... hard to tell condition from your pictures but it sure looks nice! Have fun with it.

You aren't hurt on either one of those rifles. The F looks like it has some condition and in 243, a desirable rifle. Your Model 29A or 29B, which is it?, looks very nice too.

Welcome to the forum!! Stick around.

As to fixing the crack, read up under the Misc. Good Info thread. Personally I use acraglas on mine, and it works great.

243 looks nice. Premil 243f's with condition aren't exactly a dime a dozen.

Is it worth 800 to you? If so then you didn't pay too much.

That .243 is a steal in that condition. Good going!

Does the 29A have a serial number stamped into the front of the frame or just symbols?
That is an easy fix, and I have fixed many of them...take the stock off and very gently spread the crack, apply some two part clear epoxy or glass bedding compound like the red box Brownells glass as its more of a liguid and then hit it a lick with a air hose if you have one then apply a tad more and using a large rubber band or some small surgical tubling wrap it up, let it cure then lightly rub it out and match the finish..be sure to clean up the inside also..The wood there is too thin to pin and really no need. I also go ahead and glass bed the butt stock as long as I'm already there but thats another project.

I can't date either one for you but you can date the F yourself. Look at the section of the frame that the lever hinges at, also know as the lever boss. You should see a stamp with a letter/number inside of a circle. This is the lever boss code(LBC). Started in 1949 which is shown as "A", 1950 = B, 1951= C, etc. You may need a magnifying glass to see this clearly. Your F should have been made in 1955 or later but no later than 1959.

The 29A can be dated if you want to get a factory letter from the Historian. See the sticky above for contact info.

I'm going to take a stab at this ad say the F is a 57... Rory wil be around shortly to tell me I am wrong... I could verify by looking at a few of mine but they are still cased from the range.

You can figure it out on your own... look just above the lever pivot point and there will be a letter/ number combo stamped with an oval around it. Can be hard to read but should be two numbers then a letter... what you need is that letter...

A=49
B=50
C=51

Stays like that... no O though...and I don't think a Q either but could be wrong...Rory??

Very late 1956 I think.. close though, Drew. Be interested in knowing what the LBC code is.

I have 9227XX as 17H...

I also have 9332XX as 6I... interstingly enough... both 243s also...

Ah, 1957 after all (according to the LBC). I'll record that one, must be right at the end of the year.
