I am new to this site, and while I have enjoyed collecting 99's for many years, many of you are far ahead of my knowledge base.

Ok, to the point. What is a Lever Boss Code, and where is it located? I have been told it is "above the lever" but can't find it.

Any chance somebody can post a photo of this?

Thanks!

It's in the oval between the serial # and lever bolt. You'll see a number and a letter.Magnifying glass will help

Ok, I found it.

What does it mean?

Does it confirm dates of mfg or something else?

Also, what if a 99 does not have one?

Has the LBC always been used?

Thanks sqweeler! You have been a big help to me.

Only means something from 1949 through 1970. Might be there on other years, but it's just an inspection stamp. And they skipped the letters O and Q.
