A friend and his 19 year old son were drawn for California "Dog-7" deer hunting area this year. They are required to use non-lead bullets. I remember Jeff's posts and comments about the Barnes .257cal 75gr SX bullets being excellent in 250Sav with 1 in 14 twist. The same bullets that are not made any more.

Anybody have a spare box they are willing to sell or trade for? Given how much my friends shoot their Savages in a year, one box would be good for them to work up a load, and have rounds left for a hunt. My friend is a conscientious reloader, and would not screw it up. We are talking thin, light Sierra blacktails.

His boy will use the 250.

If the proper answer is, "the 85gr TTSX works fine at 1 in 14 and moderate velocities...", then those (experienced) comments are also appreciated. I've never reloaded or hunted with solid coppers.

What .30 cal all copper works well in 300Sav?

Thanks, all.
130 tsx in 300?
OK, thanks.

EDIT:
Thanks for the responses! I have some bullets on the way.
Randy,

the 85 grain TTSXs won't preform in the 1-14 twists.

However, I do have an extra box of .257 dia. 75 grain Barnes "XFB" bullets if you are interested, drop me a line.
I also have a box or two.
If you still need some let me know.
