How did so many of these get to the states?
Did Canada sell them somewhere's down there to the top bidder of some kind of police auction?
Same with the Homegaurd rifles, there seems to be more of them on U.S. sites than there are in Canada. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
what are they worth, res is around 400, I beleive,
"... a monties service rifle..." I don't think so. Looks like a pre-WWI ventage 1899. Buy it for what you see not for the story.

Just to satisfy my own curiousity I drove almost 200 miles round trip today to look at this rifle. I can state without question that the only part of the rifle that was made by Savage is the action - not the barrel, not the wood, not the buttplate, and not the sights.
