Hey all, Looking for a Bullet mold for 22 HP. What are you HP shooters using? modern or vintage, just want to keep shootin my 1899. any info is great.
Thanks,
Jeff
The most common design is the old Lyman/Ideal # 228367, 60 grain spitzer shape. Works well for me. 6-7gr Unique drives it like a hot .22WMR, and is very accurate.

Others exist but are very pricey- essentially custom jobs. (RCBS has listed a mould for the .228, and it's a good flat nose design, but sometimes its on their list and sometimes it isn't- might pay to inquire with them.) The 228367 turns up on fleabay from time to time which is about your best bet. The mould is a long-discontinued design.
They also made an end tip to go along with the 228367 mold. You cast it out of lead and place it in the mold and then add the harder alloy. Would be fun to try this out if one could find both moulds. This tip is shown in the Ideal Hand Book from 1929. It's listed as 228367-Tip.
No molds left but I do have:
100 Hornady .227 70 gr
100 Sisk .227 70 gr.

Both are sealed cartons....will sell if worth while....but leaving in AM for two weeks of fishing.
PM sent. I can use the Sisks.
