OK. Not sure if I should put here first, but going to anyway. I have the above gun that I would like to trade for or against a Savage 99EG in 250-3000 or a Savage 99F(50's era) in 250-3000. Nice looking rifle, and I see it has the Lyman 54 sight.

I see nothing wrong with offering a trade among the group, by the way. I'd like to see more of this sort of thing in fact.

I have a mint 250 prewar R, problem was to nice to shoot. Had to find another one in shooter grade to hunt with. Life is full of tough Savage 99 choices. GW

I noticed that the receiver is not cut out for a stripper clip & the barrel does not look like it has a dovetail which could suggest a 1920-26, does the stock seem to be a little different from other 1920's?
