I am a late-comer to the savage ammo collecting hobby. The other day I ran onto a deal for 9 boxes shown in the photo below. This ammo seems to be in good shape to meAll boxes are full, all end flaps and tabs are in place, ammo seems to be in good condition. The only drawback I can see is the $35.00 per box orange sticker on each box. And no this is not what I paid they cost me a bit more.

All of this ammo is 30-30 caliber. I would like to keep one box and was wondering if anyone that might have a use for it would like to trade some similar condition savage ammo in a different caliber for this 30-30 ammo so I could expand my collection a bit.

My email address is in my profile or if you prefer send a PM if interested in a trade.

I hate it when they put "stickers" on vintage ammo boxes... most time you try and remove 'em you damage the box exterior.

nice looking lot of ammo, congrats.

I would try lighter fluid on the sticker of the worst box. Soak the label and it should come right off the box.

There are removable and non-removable labels. You don't want to try removing the latter by just pealing it as you will likely remove the paper from the box, as well.

Hit it with a blow dryer before you try to peel one up. It should soften up the adhesive.

Tried the blow dryer trick as suggested by another member in a pm to me. It worked great. Stickers came off easily with no damage to box and no residue left from stickers on the box.

Thanks for the suggestions fellas.

I am not an expert on Savage ammo, but before you part with any of that ammo I would suggest that you check the address on the back of the box. The newest Utica boxes are identical to the Chicopee Falls boxes and look just like the boxes in your photo. The only difference is the address. It is my experience that Utica ammo is much, much more difficult to find and thus should command a higher price.
