Hi guys. I've been looking for a Savage 24S in .22LR/20 gauge for a while. My grandfather had one and I would love to find one like it. I have found many with the tang release and one with the side, but in 22 Mag instead of LR. Were these models particularly rare or are people just holding onto them?

When they were made, the 24S was the less expensive version.

Thanks guys. Yeah, being in Canada limits the selection it seems. Pretty much patrolling used racks and putting up WTB adds on Canadian sites.

Any reason why they were less expensive? I found one that had the break release on the front of the trigger guard, which was a first for me.

Not as well/highly finished.

Plain wood, no pressed checkering.

Stamped, rather than casts white metal, trigger guard.
