That's about the same price I find them at gun shows here in Ontario.
To me, a fair price would be $20 or so, but that's how I value all factory ammo for shooting purposes. If a guy wants to add recent ammo (newer than say 1960- hey, I'm an old baby boomer) to his cartridge collection then I guess it's what the market will bear. In this case I'll agree with the $40-70 estimate.
Factory ammo is one of those things I'm particularly curmudgeonly about. I haven't bought a box of factory stuff for the purpose of shooting it since back around 1998, and that was a fluke. And some of those cartridges are still in a drawer somewhere.
Funny thing, it was a box of W-W .303 Silvertips that sucked me down that particular caliber rabbit hole. I had a box of the stuff that had been my Pop's, that I hung on to for about 15 years with no gun to shoot them in. I set that to rights one day, and now the .303 is one of my favorites.
I love the win silver tips and buy them when i can for 30-40 bucks, iv seen them for as much as a 100 but that guy has had that box for years!
