Bad news. It won't be available until March 28,2016. At least I'll have copies for the Denver and Ohio gun shows.
There seem to be a lot of newbies on the forum. For your info what I'm talking about is a new book on the Savage 99 with about 250 color photos and most of what you ever wanted to know about 99's, 1899's, 1895's, and the prototypes and probably a lot of what you don't care about since it goes all the way to the end of 99 production. David
Sorry to hear that, was hopeing to be reading it by the fire on a cold day this winter! course it still winter here till almost May! Looking forward to my copy David!
Yeah, and a lot of people wanted copies for Christmas presents too.
Shame. I'm still on for signed production copy # 99, right?
I do hope you're offering signed copies.
Oldgrouser, you're down for number 99. I'll be signing them and inscribing them with reasonable comments. Some one asked me to inscribe theirs that I'm leaving my 99 collection to them. The collection may go to some museum or my wife may sell it and go on a long cruise. She's been deprived of that privilege while married to me because I went on enough cruises when I was in the Marine Corps. David
And I'm getting copies 1,2 and 3, right?
I'm in for at least two copies when its ready. Thanks for the update. 021
21, I've got you on the list for 2. #1 through 11 is already taken. Oldgrouser's got 99 and Saddlering 1899.
As long as I'm still on the list I can wait. Might have to send a change of address though.
At least it is still in the works and not cancelled like a couple other projects that have gone through here in the past. Let your publisher take the time to get it right. I'll be retired for the rest of my life so I can wait.
OK David
thanks for the update, I'm still in for two
thanks Paul
David,
I'm in no hurry, but if we get to reserve numbers, I would like number "77".
Thanks and good luck,
Doug

Kind of tongue in cheek comment on the numbers but yes, I'll take two, and thanks.
David, Not a big deal, good things are worth waiting for !!
I will need 4 copies in all. I really dont care what the numbers are .
You guys are all on the list. Rakkasan, you're down for 77.
One of the members asked me if I would take Paypal. I'm not inclined to deal with them due to their anti-gun policy. What do you guys think? I'll get set up with them if there is a demand for it.
My plan is to set up with a cell phone that'll take credit cards and set up a separate bank account and P.O. box. I'll take checks also. I'll also have the book available on Amazon and Ebay. I haven't done anything like this before so any input you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David
I vote against anyone with an anti gun policy. PayPal, R.J. Reynolds, Levi Strauss, Ted Turner, Democrats, some Republicans, etc, get no money from me.
Doug
Still need one here. Number not important. Thanks. Jim
Paypal is handy, but not necessary.
Hoping that I am still on the list for 1 copy, any number will be fine!
The Square account has worked well for us.
No problem on the delay. Stuff happens. As far as PayPal goes, I hold my nose and use them frequently. There are too many anti-gun firms out there to ignore or not use them all. PayPal is super fast and convenient and if you use the "gift" feature there is no charge, and I like playing with somebody else's money. But it's definitely not a game changer either way as far as I'm concerned.
yooper
Put me down for number 95! If that one is taken number 88 please!
Bad news. It won't be available until March 28,2016.
Actually that's good news David.
You have a delivery date and it isn't that far away.
I would like a personalized copy also. How about #303??
Meanwhile, I'll read something else,... #73 of 1111.
That would be very interesting reading!
I've sold a few things on ebay so I have a paypal account. I'll just have to look at it and see what you guys need to do to pay through it. I'll get a credit card account in the next week or two and that'll be my preferred way of selling the book because of paypals anti-gun stance.
If you are going to be on Ebay, I would assume you are going to be stuck with PayPal. I use them for most of the stuff I do on Ebay, Joe.
David, I know I'm down for two copies, and I hate to put you through this, but if #22 and #250 are available, I'd really like those two. How do you keep track of the #'s, Joe.
David I want one book sign and number 300.
Thanks George
David, I would like to have one book sign by you and #300 if you can.
Thanks George
I'm going to have to use paypal for whoever wants to go that way. After we get Labor Day out of the way I'll set up a special bank account for the book and set paypal to pay to that account. I'll also get setup to take credit cards. I'll set up a website eventually. I think it's a little early for the website. I'll also take checks through the mail.
You guys got the numbers you requested. That's all the Savage calibers.
Joe, I have every one who want's a book listed in a spiral notebook with how many copies they want, the number they want and any other info such as email, phone number, snail mail address, etc.
I have 117 books requested so far, primarily by forum members.
I plan to get 500 books as soon as they are available. The price will be $60.00 plus shipping. I'll of course sign the book and inscribe it with things like happy birthday from Dad, merry Christmas, or mention the buyers favorite model or whatever. I'll number them from 1 to 498 and also do 1895 and 1899 (already taken) and skip those numbers when they come up if I sell that many books.
March is a long way off but I'm beginning to get a little excited about the book.
Incidentally, I'll have my display at the UGCA collectors show in Ogden, Ut., Oct 10-11.
David
I hope my name is in your little black book, David! Close your eyes and pick me one!
Gary Id go with 22 for 22Hp if its still open!
saddlering, Joe Martin got 22. I've got you down for 1899. I'll inscribe your copy something about 22 HP.
I got paypal setup today. For people who have a paypal account go to your account and send the amount to
[email protected]. If you don't have a paypal account send me your email address, I'll go to my paypal account, I send your info to paypal and the amount and they email you with instructions on how to send the payment.
I'm in the process of setting up an account to take credit cards. It'll be a few more days. I'll be able to take Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. I'll update this thread as soon as I have the info.
For anyone who want's to send a check or money order my address is: David Royal, P.O. Box 1271, Pinedale, Wy. 82941-1271.
Shipping by priority mail flat rate envelop with tracking number and $50 insurance is $5.95 for U.S addresses. The same shipping to a foreign country is $26.50. The book is $59.95 or $59.99 or something like that. For U.S. buyers send me $65.00 and foreign $86.00 and we'll call it even.
I'll ship the book as soon as I get them to people who pre-pay and notify the others ASAP. I've already told my wife (#1 helper) not to plan anything from March 28th through April. David
David, Paypal sent. Hope it works ok for you. Looking forward to the book next year.
If 375 is available, I'll take that number on signed copy.
thx, keith
Got it Keith. PM me you're mailing address and I'll put it on the paid list. Thanks, David
I'll get a check in the mail soon and would like #358 if not already spoken for.
thanks
Dale
303 if it is available
Blair
WYO1895
If #007 is available, would appreciate it to go with my 10,007 1899 rifle. Let me know and I will get a check out to you. Thanks GW
Blair, 303 is taken. the only calibers left are 243, 284 and 308. How about 30, the really early 30-30's were stamped 30 caliber. 25-35, 32-40 and 38-55 aren't taken either. I could make them 25, 32 and 38 and work something creative into the inscription.
Oldtimer you've got 007. Next time I'm back that way I'd like to photograph 10007 for my next book.
If you can't make it I think I could come up with some pictures worthy of printing. Thanks GW
I still want one too #1895 ?
Sorry Tal I have 1895
Johno

Well all I hunt with is a 284 in a 99C so out me down for that! Thanks David!
Blair you've got 284. I like that cartridge. I killed an elk my 284 DL last year. After I get an elk with my 303 SRC, I'll probably go back to the 284.
tal35, how about 35, it's not taken yet. David
David
PayPal sent as a gift/family so you won't get hit for the 3.5% fee. Looking forward to the book no matter what number it turns out to be.
John
yooper
When the printing gets up to number 1152xx, I'll take that one. the number of my first Imp. (Unless #22 isn't already spoken for!)
John (yooper) got your paypal. Thanks for calling it a gift and saving me the 3.5% fee. Paypal is higher than Visa. Gnoahhh, I'll just jump ahead and number your book 1152 and make a note not to use that number again if I sell that many.
David,
Since a lot of folks here have been asking for a particular numbered book if you can make mine 65. That was the year of my first Mustang. Nothing better than shooting '99s and driving Mustangs fast. Don't really care what the number of the second book is. Actually, don't really care about the number at all if 65 isn't available.
Take care,
George
If still available, I would like book number 358.
Savage99F358
358 has been taken. All of the calibers in my 9-9 post are still available except 284. David

You guys are on the list. Plab, 1895 and 1899 are taken. Do you still want two? David

Good news! Hopefully he doesn't push for too many changes.
Hi David the 4 i want , I would like 4 consecutive no's as low as possible,

I'm not so concerned about book numbers but a signed edition would be great.
How many in the first run? And they are actually numbered?
How many in the first run? And they are actually numbered?
I'm planning to get 500 copies and number them myself. 1 of 500, etc. I don't know how many Schiffer publishing will print. A lot I hope.
Hope you still got 2 for down under on your list
Cheers Graham
Graham, you're down for two.
