Awesome! So where'd ya dig it up??
I'll just say the ubiquitous "wow."
I betting you have the rifle to go with it. GW
Daaaayumm is right, that's are hen's tooth
Was hard to let it go, but I knew it was going to a good home and that it would be treasured as much as I had treasured it. Glad you're happy with it!
Very nice David. 😘 Let's see some pictures of the complete outfit.

No luck involved there. Just a willingness, knowledge, AND true desire to own it. You got a great addition to your collection from one of the great ones. Congratulations.
They are certainly a treasure and part of Canadian history. I have one at my home right now that surfaced at a garage sale a few months ago in Orillia, Ont. for $75 including sheath. It was quickly flipped for a lot more $$$$.
Certainly not as nice as David's and unfortunately I didn't find it but current owner brought it up to try on my MHG and left it so I could take photographs.
Often wondered if Savage actually made these bayonets or had another company make them.
BillR
The info I have says Savage manufactured the bayonet.
Nice to see it stay within "the family".
The UGCA collectors show is in Ogden Oct 10 and 11. That'll be the first time I've shown the bayonet and the 1895 carbine. I'll let you guys know if anyone likes them.
I'll post pics from my display.
Of course now you have to get the 99 Musket to go with the bayonet.
I already had the musket.
Somehow I knew that was coming. Here's how these things work for me. Say I find a sight, stock or something like your bayonet it will set me off on a quest to finish the puzzle. When you have time post a picture of your musket and tell us something about it. Thanks.
David probably has better pictures of it, but here's a picture from the last Fest.
Pardon my ignorance, but were these bayonets serial numbered to their guns?
Collectors of U.S. bayonets used to say that the Krag bayonet was the most handsome of the lot. I would have to say that this one has them beat.
They weren't serial numbered. I'll post pics of my musket with the new bayonet in my display next weekend.
as soon as i opened the post i knew where you found it ,, congrats on that , Blair had and has some very nice stuff..

He sure does. He was a lot of help with the MHG info and accessories for the book.
