How did he ever determine it was a 22HP even?? Holy smokes, that's worse than that 100 year old loaded winchester someone found leaning against a tree.
Probably from the tiny hole in the end of the barrel. I'll restore it if Stever agrees to engrave it when done. Or, one could do a "rat rod" out of it, like some hot rodders do with barn-find 30's Fords. The blurb doesn't say if it was found clutched in the hands of a skeleton embracing a bear skeleton.
I would have advertised it a s 25-35 and I'll bet it would get bids.
I have a civil war musket barrel we dug up in better shape than that one, Joe.

Heck, that'll buff right out gringringrin

Steve
heckm if that goes for 350 us. i've got a few like that but in better shape must be worth 400, i;ll even through in a few needed parts grin

norm
A little spray paint,strap on a 2x4 and she's good to go.
I hate to ask where the seller was digging.

You beat me to it-that's what I was going to say.
If he throws in some equally "aged" see through mounts and a Tasco 4x, I'll take it.
Perfect to cerakote!!!! Who would know.
Run a patch or two up and down the barrel and it should be good to go.
The sh*t some people pay good money for...
I have a 1876 Winchester that's a duplicate of that one.
mine has a back story with it.
Speaking of restoration projects on 22HP's.. ran across this. Can't say I approve of his Duracoat color scheme (looks a bit too Fireball'ish grin), but he did bring it back.

Rory don't be a hater. laugh I do actually have one or two maybe three original guns you know.
