And you wonder WHY I went the direction I did. It becomes a JOB rather than a pleasure.
He, you innovated a great and obviously successful idea. Have you thought about contacting a local shop for making up a small run?

TOO MANY DARN REFERRALS! whistle
If I wasn't in the garage keeping busy I'd go nuts. When it feels like work I walk away. Pretty hard for an old Type A guy to just shut down though.

Keep the cards & letters comin' in wink
So, when will Midway start carrying them, Mike?!
Sorta had that conversation earlier today, oddly enough.

I've never looked into mapping the thing with a laser so it be turned out with CNC but I imagine that is feasible. I doubt it would make a good business case though because I don't think the sales volume is there. But that's just what I think. If anyone wanted to run with it I would be a willing consultant.

If he did, he wouldn't be selling them for the price he is. I work in a shop and talked with the boss about doing a run of my reproduction Stiths using the shop. Break even, materials and labor, would be over a grand. How many ya want??????
It's kind of funny, when you put things in perspective, at the cost of making something today, I tend to add a couple hundred dollars to my high bid for something with condition. If they don't make it anymore you can't reproduce it. Not at the quality level or price, one goes out the window, Joe.
I was just addressing the issue of lightfoot sounding overly tied to making the mount. But as he says you do something like this because it is fun and then walk away when it begins to feel like that four letter word called work. The problem is not his, it is ours as we don't seem to be able to get enough of what he produces. But for me i can live with that and and patience is a virtue.
