Okay guys, we have a new date for the 2016-Fest East...July 22&23

1) Need to know who will come? Include if you will be bringing anyone with you.

2) How many tables? Rounds tables available. Will rent 2x6 or 2x8 tables depending on how many needed.

3) What days will you be there? We will try to set up one meal Friday late afternoon/evening and one meal around noon on Saturday in the building. We have access to a kitchen. Please note what meals you will want and for how many.

I have not made any steps toward making T-shirts. Sounds like a good idea if somebody wants to pick that aspect of this gathering up.

Saddlering, what kind of tent are you interested in? Like a display tent for outside, with no walls, only a roof?

In response to an email asking, there is a better than 50/50 chance I'll make this years fest, and if I do go I promise to bring my 100% factory original Bird's Eye Maple stocked 1899 for all to fondle.

I have been on the sidelines too long to pass up the opportunity to go to this one. It is only about 4 hours from me.

It appears that we have enough takers for the July 22-23 date that Bob will be putting money down to reserve the building. Please mark your calendar/tell your wife so something else doesn't try to keep you from coming.

If you have friends or family that are interested in 99 levers bring them along. It is not an open-to-the-public show but we welcome anyone with an interest and that we have prior notification of their attending.

Tioga County Historical Society is a short distance away from the Fest venue, within walking distance if you are somewhat spry. When I and some family visited Wellsboro 4 years ago we stopped in hoping to find some family related info. I happened to notice there was an exhibit of artifacts and other materials on George Washington Sears who wrote in the 1800's under the pen name Nessmuk. Wellsboro was his home at his death and for some years before. Its worth seeing for those interested in such things but I don't know if its still displayed. The TCHS is run by volunteers and is very informal.

Bob, have you thought about some door prizes? I have a couple items that could probably be used as door stops I'd like to donate, Joe.

This event looks interesting. I am only a few hours away & expect to come alone, or with a friend, probably for just the day either Fri or Sat, and I would be interested in a meal. Looking forward to it. -Jim

Gary and I got the last double at the Canyon for the 22nd and 23rd. They have suites left at a higher rate. I believe saddlering and olddotter are staying there also, Joe.

Canyon still has doubles in the extended stay section if you ask the right question.

FYI... I will be bringing 14 signed and numbered copies of David Royals book to Savage Fest. They will be $60 each.

For anyone wishing to do some camping with a small restaurant at the facility, you may want to try Frome Acres. They are located 15 minutes west of Wellsboro on Rte 6, directly on Pine Creek (a shallow rock bottom river).

I'm hoping to get in a little fly fishing on Pine Creek while I'm up there. Lots of great water in this area for doing that, if anybody else is interested.

I have the rod & reel, but you would have to cast for me!

Made my Motel reservation yesterday. Really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing everyone's treasures. I'll be bringing at least 50 model 99's. I do have a few good ones that I like showing off...It's gonna be fun....

I'm in trouble. My wife had my Cousins wedding on the calendar as the 16TH. I looked yesterday and it was crossed out, and it is the 22ND. I've got rooms paid for. I guess my wife can take my son, and tell every one I lost weight and got a hair cut, it might work, Joe.

Honey, I got a call from a guy went to high school with. It was great to hear from him, we sure laughed about the old times! He did mention he's fallen on hard times, and is dying of cancer with no one to care for him. I found out he's a real gun nut, and get this, Savages are his passion. What are the odds? I'm thinking I need to load up some rifles and head down to see him for a couple days, before he does anything drastic. Yeah, he's real down. Don't you think so? Yeah, it's too important to not go. The Fest is full speed ahead. All we need is everyone to attend.

Building will be open at 8AM Friday for setup. Will have a catered meal in the building late afternoon on Friday and around noon on Saturday. If there are leftover we could do sandwiches Saturday night. Will ask for donations to cover costs.

Will close the building when everyone thinks it is time to leave and lockup for the evening...6, 8, ? Might gather afterwards at a local watering hole or outside in the parking lot.

Security: local law is only a couple blocks a way and will have them do some night time checks. Anyone with a camper could overnight in the parking lot.

I still have several who thought they might come but did not commit. Now is the time let me know if you are or are not coming so we can adjust table numbers and food. The more items (not just guns)we have to look at the better so if you can bring something to look at it would be great.

Everyone will be badged so if you are bringing a guest let me know a name so I can print a badge.

Well, I have made it as far as my brothers house west of St Louis. I will be coming alone. My girlfriend, Sharon has been sick with the flu and thought she was getting over it, but when I arrived to pick her up today she was light headed when she stood up. There was a funeral visitation that she really needed to go to in Jefferson City, MO so we went and then I put her on the Amtrak train back to KC where a friend will pick her up. We had originally planned to leave on Saturday.

I'm just a little ways past Harrisburg. Boy my feet are sore. I guess it would go easier were it not for all the rifles on my back. Hope to catch the ferry over the Susquehanna at Millersburg tomorrow, otherwise I'll be swimming it. Thank goodness it's not too hot.

Sad to say I wont be comeing to this fest! my old buddie, my dog , is haveing trouble with his hips, was at the Vet yesterday they are doing blood tests to see if he can take some meds to help him with this. its going to take a few days to get the results back, My wife had foot surgery 2 weeks ago to remove the hardware they put in a year ago, shes doing Great but cant pick him up if he cant make it back into the house, and we are in the bonnies. he was with me when I went thru my Med troubles, so I just cant leave him Now! Hope all have Fun and a safe trip comeing and going! PS Jerry "Oldotter" is a Great Buddie and Im sorry to have to back out on hiim this late, he understands.

I'm here! It was 50 degrees this morning.
Anyone traveling east on I-80 out of Youngstown, OH - be warned - the first 15 miles in PA took me almost an hour Tuesday afternoon. One lane road due to construction, one minor accident in the back up, and lots of semi's that are slow to get going from a dead stop on the hills.

Gas costs less in Ohio than Pennsylvania. I filled up in Youngstown at $1.99. I topped off at exit 173 before heading north to Wellsboro at $2.15.

I have had all sorts of problems making a post here lately. Had to go to firefox, now it seems to be functioning.

Place is airconditioned!!!!!

Lots of tables.

Lots of food. I was told (this is my first Savagefest to attend much less host) to have "one big meal each day". I will do a bit more than that. Anyone who is hungry beyond that can walk 250' to the McDonalds in the back yard.

To find the place, just find the only McDonalds in Wellsboro. We are in their backyard. I will remove the chain from the driveway at 8am Friday morning, so anyone can drive in from there, or also from the street behind.

If anyone wants to help me do some cleanup on Sunday morning it will be much appreciated.

The place is fully furnished with refrigeration in the form of refrigeratiors, freezers, griddles, eating utensils, and all we could need.

If anyone wants to camp there with a camper or a tent, feel free. There is 120 elec to hook up to, just bring an extension cord.

If anyone needs me my cell is 585-739-2104.
