All:

I picked this one up for less than they advertised for it. Looks like a long time friend will take it off my hands after I get it mounted up with a stith and Weaver that I have sitting here. My buddy will be hunting with me this year, so hopefully he can use this gun to make an addition to the 2016 Savage kill page.

I would have bought that in a flash.

Friend RAS,

There is more to guns than just plain GUNS.

Honestly, I cannot remember how many incredible rifles, fine shottyguns, Herron knives and such I've given to friends.

Heck, that even includes the two "rusty steel" Case double folders I freely gave to Hillybillybear and Sakolvr on this forum.

They were always given with one "catch;" You are to enjoy my gift for as long as you can and when you pass it on, give it for free ... with no charge. Give it to someone who will enjoy it just as much as we did ... or to a kid who is just beginning.

It's just stuff. But just stuff that can kindle the spark of friendship and keep our sport alive.

Good on you, my friend.

God Bless,

Steve

No SH1T.

Me, too.

Blessings,

Your friend Steve

Steve,

Thank you for the kind words. Agree on all. Life is just a short ride.

All the best,
Jeff
Oh, it is an early pre-war checkered EG. I like the front sight too. Though with a stith, it doesn't matter now.

Friend Jeff,

As you so rightly said, "Life is just a short ride."

Might I add,"And that we pass forward is LOOOONG."

Blessings,

Steve

That, my friend, is the way it is done !!!! One nice rifle= one happy camper. This makes my heart happy.
Looks very nice and straight to me. Nice one!
Just got this rifle today. Wow, is it nice. A little Flitz cleaned it up super. The numbers match and there isnt anything wrong with the gun except that someone put a red bead on the front sight. It has been hardly shot. The bore is like a mirror. DOM is 1940.

Red bead, as in 99T?
No Gary, its like a modern one. I was hoping it was one of those red bead T front sights.
