Was almost able to get the Stith/Alaskan fully mounted on the 1927 .300 Savage EG

But the second to last step is to loosen the two top screws of the rear mount so that the scope can slide. This allows allignment of the front mount screw.

Alas, the two Jedi screws will not yield.

Today's attempt to attain Stith Lord status is foiled.

Damn those Jedi
Get some Kroil Oil, let bit sit a day or two! if you mess them screws up there very hard to find!
Mix up some "Ed's Red" and let it soak in it. Half Auto transmission fluid and half Acetone. Better than Kroil.

Be careful not to get any of that acetone on the stock. I've had some success using a small
electric soldering iron to heat the screw and then backing it out....
Stith made or had those screws made to order because they are NOT standard 6-48 gun screws. Ruin them and you have a mess on your hands.

I like Kroil for this challenge and it's gun friendly.

Heat from a soldering iron on the screw head is another good tip!
Sent the scope and mount with frozen to screws to the smith I often deal with.

Quick turn around and I hope to have the unstuck scoe/mount recevied and mounted early next week
