Looking for a parts schematic for the Savage Model 1920 rifle. Mine is a later one, (sn 11907), produced in 300 sav. Any help would be appreciated.

Gunparts/Numerich Arms should also have a schematic.

I don't know how close the patent drawings are to the actual gun so there might be a few differences but these show the parts in the correct places -

Ah yes the ever elusive M1920 TD. Thx again Gene.

Has anyone ever encountered a prototype?

And by the way, don't let anyone tell you that the 1920 has a krappy trigger. It's a military type two stage pull and you just have to work with it to realize this.

1920/26 is one cool gun. cool

However, the triggers suck.

Don't let anyone tell you they don't...

Obviously I differ in opinion. Get an old Krag or 1903 and practice with a two stage pull and you too will see the light. I say this in the best of all humor and good fellowship but I do mean it.

I don't find the triggers to be a hindrance, but then again I grew up on Mauser's and Springfield's.

I have a question about the bolt on the model 1920. It seems like the ones I've had my hands on had a swept back bolt handle. The pictures I've seen of others have a straight bolt handle. The one I had, the bolt didn't fit down in the groove in the stock. Just wondering does the bolt handle have to fit a certain stock?

The 1st version (Model 1920) had a straight drop handle.

The later 20/26's handle angled back. The change was around 105xx. These later ones have a heavier stock.
