I like the saddleguns, that's a steal at that price.
While you're there, pick one up for me too, Joe.
What year would B prefix be?
See page 138 in David's recent book.
B goes from 1973 to 75.
Helluva deal alright!!
Interesting. I have a 99-A purchased from the original owners widow that included the hang tag and sale receipt dated 10-05-1973. Always wondered what date it was manufactured.
Nice rifle, bought one in 308 at the Tulsa show this spring. Anyone seeing many of these in 300 savage?? Just wondering if that caliber is hard to find in that variation
It is hard to find a 99A Saddle gun in 300. I've seen two or three.
Always wanted ine in 300 savage, remember the one a couple years back Roy I had to pass due to the exporter.
Got a good exporter now, darn shame
Johno
Great buy! Real nice rifle! congrats
The early 99A's made from 1971 to 1975 had the 20" barrel which I think is more desirable in a saddle gun. From 1976 to the end of production they shared the 22" barrel with the other models. You did well at that price. David
Damn,I guess I paid too much.
"Nice rifle, bought one in 308 at the Tulsa show this spring."
So you were the one.
That's one rifle I would love to find down here
Nice pick well done
I bought this 250 new in the early 70's and still own it. I've killed quite a few black tail with it..

That's in good shape for a gun that sees the rain forest. Nice job keeping it sharp.
