Beautiful rifle! Is it a TD Short Rifle with special order pistol grip?

Yep, takedown and pistol grip, smooth buttplate. All numbers match.

Were did you find that? Nice rifle. You don't see many optional pistol grips in that era.

I shared a few cell phone pics with a couple guys yesterday.

You're about 3rd in line. grin

Not flawless, but given it's 104 years old I'm thrilled. Thin chip gone from top of buttplate, couple of small tang cracks starting. Honest, high quality gun.

Actually I'd been looking at it online for a few months. Cabela's had it, but their pics weren't great and price was a bit much to take a risk on it. Stopped by and picked it up and said, "Oh My...".

Wife and the boys even oohed and aahed and said it was "pretty".

Never!! grin

I have more guns that were messed with that need to be hunted then I will ever get to. I can afford to have a few that are just to look at. David's experience with his 284 sticks in my mind.. sick

Just messin with you Rory. My Malcolm is the only rifle that I would try to protect, and it's going out next month. It's the only HP I have and I'm trying for the slam this year, so it has to go out. I think I'm going to pull the scope and send it to Parsons to rebuild, and hunt with the tang sight, Joe.
