I have a 99C in 308. (Clip Model)

It is having issues extracting rounds after firing. Some times it will not "grab" the shell at all and sometimes it will pull the shell about half way out and drop it.

Any of you guys have any suggestions?

I am thinking about taking to a gunsmith but around here there are no gunsmiths that have much/any experience with 99's.

Have you checked out the extractor to see if the tip is broken or bent?

These are always nasty problems to solve...

No. If the tip is broken, can it be replaced? Where do I find parts?

I have the parts - both new and used. New ones have to be fitted which is pretty tedious but doable. It is held in by 1 pin from top to bottom in the bolt.

I think I'll take it to a local gunsmith and see what he can do. (I wish you weren't a country away.) If I need parts, I'll get in touch!
