A few of you asked for more pics of this gun. Anyways, I think this will cut it.

I took off the buttstock to clean the metal underneath. That is why it looks like it isnt all the way on. Because it isn't.

What's the tang site Jeff, is that of the same vintage?

Jeff,

I believe it is a Savage #18 Combination.

Open the link below and scroll down. I am not sure if it is of the same vintage but I believe it is. Actually, I think the sight was made by Lyman but called the Savage Combination #18.

Others who know more will be along shortly.

On the last 2 pics, does anyone know which kind of Marbles is that rear sight? Was this sight specifically used for a Savage?

It's a Marbles #68, definitely not original, someone has replaced the original.
