I bought my first Dunn knife in 2000 and loved that i could use the knife all hunting season and get it sharpened at the show each year from Mr. Dunn but when he sold the company Steve Green his sil I have heard took over and i cant seem to get a sharp knife out of him they are built great and have a nice sheath and if you can sharpen it yourself as they are s60v I would go for it

For 15-20 years a Dunn was my only knife.

He has S60v and sometimes S90v.

I broke a couple over the years and both times my fault.. Both times he replaced it with a new one at NO CHARGE.

I have since upgraded to mainly Doziers/ Ingrams but there in no issue with Dunn knives..

I would invest 90.00 in a paper wheel system.. I don't let anyone sharpen my knives for lots of reasons.. mainly cause I enjoy it..If your unfamiliar with paper wheels send me a PM and I will be happy to help you get set up..

The combo pack that Dunn sells is a nice way to go IMO..

I have several Dunn knives. My first was purchased from Melvin Dunn at his shop over 20 yrs ago. It is a small skinner/trapper in stag. He was a pioneer in D2 along the lines of Bob Dozier. I like it better than the S60V that I have in Steve Green's knives.

Harvey King is another KS knife maker. I have one if his knives in D2 with stag and another on the way. Good luck.

I'm a little late but I should mention that the steel is HARD. I needed diamond stones to get any type of edge and finally resorted to a local knife sharpener. After working on it he said it was the hardest steel he ever had to sharpen. But now the knife is like a razor and has stayed that way all season. I believe the steel is S90V.

Before I had it professionally sharpened I hated the knife because it was so dull. Now I love it. I got the six inche fillet knife which is more like a boneing knife is stiffness.
