Just got an email from Edge Pro that shows a new attachment the will improve small blade sharpening. It will retro the units they sell.
Looks like the product mixes will change a little and the prices may go up in a couple days.
I will be getting one of the new attachments.

Tim, I received the same emailed announcement but won't be buying the new gadget. Removing the plastic guard on the stop and a shorter knob works for me. I like my fix better.
So far, I have been able to sharpen small pocket knives, and paring knives without any real issues.
Looking forward Tim, to a report on how this new attachment works ot.
Where do you fellas suggest buying an Edge Pro and also which model should I get?

.... I'm done talking about buying one and ready to get one coming to me. I need a way to sharpen my custom knives and this is the solution.
I just buy everything direct from Edge Pro. They have everything on hand and you won't be receiving "knock offs".And they are nice to deal with.
You may find a E.P. Dealer with a price reduction, but....

Ricky the only EP warning is to scotch tape the blade surfaces to avoid scratches caused by abrasive particles on the platen.

You'll want to start with kitchen knives, use a black marker to get the angle correct, and make sure to get a full length burr with the coarse stone before moving to a finer grit.
You fellas all have the Apex version or Pro?
I have the Apex III kit.
I have the Apex version. I use blue painter's tape on the top, and change it every so often. Keeps the blades from getting scratched.
I bought mine from Roger at Knife Works. I have bought all the stones and accessories direct from EdgePro.
