I found a knife at a yard sale in a Randall shealth. It kind of looks like a Randall but it's not marked "Randall Made" and Randall says they would never put a knife out without trademark. The knife however says "Trisler." Only Tristler knifemaker I could find lives in Louisanna and I can't find a picture of his work anywhere. Anybody heard of him or possible know anything about this brand????

Could be a relative pos or a semi custom. I like to pick up knives like this myself sometimes you get a good one. Most of the time not. There is a company cutting cnc'd blades in a town by that name, and a relatively unknown bladesmith handmaking them.

It may be one of Ken Trisler's out of Rayville, La. He won an award for "Best knife sumitted by a journeyman" from the ABS in 1995. (Thanks Google) but I've not used any of his blades.
