I reached out to Gene last week to get on the list for a Kingfisher. While emailing back and forth he also mentioned that he had three others put together and ready to go. After drooling over the picture for a bit I decided to go with this Westinghouse Semi.

7 1/8" x 3", S30V

Not the exact configuration I would have ordered but this is more an experiment. I figured I will mess with this one some to see how the handle ergos work for me so I will be better informed at working up the details of what I want him to build when my name comes up next spring.

If it absolutely sucks for me I can always sell it and not be out a lot of money (if any at all).

Went ahead and asked him to make a kydex sheath for it too since this one will see a lot of use on the boat over the summer. Never liked leather sheaths around saltwater.

He emailed me this morning to tell me it should be here tomorrow or Friday.

I like that a bunch! What blade length are you going for on your Kingfisher?
Gonna go 5" on the Kingfisher.

I'm trying to make up my mind. My name should come up about June and the Kingfisher is one of the knives I'll be getting. I just can't make up my mind how long I want the blade.
It wasn't even a question for me. If he offered it in a 6" version I may have had a hard time making my mind up then (between 5" and 6").

Depending on the handle size, I may see if I can get him to stretch the handle a little for my large hands but no question on the blade length.

Tracking shows the Semi it out for delivery today so pretty excited to see this one when I get home.
I got the 4.5" and I love it:

YEAH...while searching for something else I ran across your post and Cheesy's from November and immediately fell in love with the pattern. Yours specifically was what drove me to get on the list.

Cheesy's Tasmanian Blackwood version is gorgeous too but I am definitely leaning towards Westinghouse. It seems every knife I have seen with these scales lately just makes me drool!

One of the three knives Gene had ready to go was a small B&T like pattern with carbon fiber scales...probably more practical blade shape for what I have in mind but I couldn't pass up the Westinghouse on the Semi I went with.
My son and I have twin #4's in the same configuration as the Kingfisher:

Those are beauts!
Great looking knives! I never get sick of the Westinghouse
I really like the lines on those knives. I love how Gene keeps it simple and clean.

I've got a double handful of Genes knives. Throw a dart blindfolded, it will hit the best one......

Great looking knife.
One of the things I have picked up after several interactions with Gene is if you tell him what you like and need he will make some suggestions that you will likely be very happy with. 1st class guy.
