I broke the handle in a little hatchet, re-hafted and made a new kydex sheath to replace the shickenchit one it came with...

That's thick Kydex!
.080
Nice work there Don, looks good. So many crappy sheaths out there.
COOL!, what is the head?
Norlund
My father bought me a Plumb hatchet over sixty years ago.
The head should still be around somewhere, but a lot of water under the bridge since then.
That's a nice sheath you made. Practical...
The first axe I bought was a Norlund Hudson Bay pattern. Still have it.
If the girls don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.
Nice, Don.

Can you get Kydex locally?

What is the coating on the head?
Locally? I guess if you mean driving into Denver... The coating is the factory paint, I reckon.
looks good
Yeah, I guess that would be local...ish.

Wondered if you had to order a piece.
of kydex.
Whenever I need a piece, I drive to Denver.....
Looks good, and more practical than the factory leather. I came into some pieces of fire hose I have been using. Seems pretty durable so far, its not going to win any beauty contests though.
I have the exact same Norlund hatchet and leather sheath. It was my father's. Nice work on the sheath.
are there cat house in Denver huntsman?
snazzy Don, but where do you ever find the time to work on things like that? smile
